Hi Uncle RN53
Any idea of the building image?

I'd written to the developer. Let's see what's their answer. Smile

2 months after my initial enquiry in June, I am truely surprised by their latest reply:

"Thank you for your interest in the mall.

Unfortunately, we do not have visuals or artist impressions yet".

Wow, 4 levels above ground and 2 basement levels of retail with another basement 3 to basement 5 carpark level. Lotsa digging manz.

I believe seletar mall will be about the same as 112 katong which also have GV at level four. Seletar mall net let table area Is 188,000 sq ft while 112 katong is 206,000 sq ft. Seletar mall gross floor area is 284,000 sq fr while 112 katong is 282,000 sq ft . 112 katong have about 130 over shops including F&B so seletar mall at least will also have over hundreds shops. whistle whistle . Uni qlo be one of the anchor retail shop pls. Yeah.

Looking forward to it with every Fernvalians!

Are we getting a library in the upcoming seletar mall?
There is a photo on the metalic barricade showing a lady is sitting in front of a laptop and a guy with specs is standing beside her and they are like students using internet in library..Sengkang already has a library at Compass Point. Possible to have one
too in Sengkang West or Seletar?

Before the announcement from developer about the cinema, ppl were already guessing because their is a photo showing a couple are eating popcorn and
they are looking at something like screen in front.

If no library then why they will show a photo of someones using a laptop in a mall?
hmmm

I doubt there will be another library in sengkang. Most likely it represent some cafe or fastfood joints. Getting common for ppl to use laptop or read in a cafe or fastfood joints.
Very Happy

The Seletar Mall slated to open on December 2014

Find out what it has to offer shoppers.

According to a release, The Seletar Mall, the latest suburban lifestyle hub in the North-East, will welcome shoppers into its modern and chic premises by December 2014, in time for festive celebrations next year.

The mall is developed by The Seletar Mall Pte Ltd, a joint venture company between Singapore Press Holdings (70%) and United Engineers Limited (30%).

Strategic Location and Strong Catchment

The Seletar Mall is nestled at the junction of Sengkang West Avenue and Fernvale Road. It is also linked to the Sengkang North East Line (NEL) MRT/LRT station and Sengkang bus interchange.

For those who drive, the mall is accessible via two main expressways, namely Tampines Expressway (TPE) and Central Expressway (CTE). There are 390 car park lots available from basements three to five. The driveway, ramp, and car park lots are designed with widths wider than the norm.

The one stop shopping, dining and entertainment destination will serve existing and new residents living in HDB Built-To-Order flats, private condominiums and landed properties at the Seletar estate. It will also cater to 747,000 residents and a working population of 47,000 within 5 km, including Sengkang, Hougang, Punggol, Serangoon and Ang Mo Kio, the Seletar Aerospace Park and Ang Mo Kio Industrial Park.

With a net lettable area of 188,000 sq ft, The Seletar Mall comprises four shopping levels above ground plus two basement levels.

The attractive list of key anchor tenants includes a Cineplex at level four, a food court with a wide array of local delights at level three, exciting anchor retail shops at levels one to three and a good-sized supermarket at basement two.

With the eclectic mix of retail, dining and lifestyle options, shoppers and diners will be spoilt for choice.

New Seletar Mall developed by SPH (Government body)
Opening 2014

284,000-sqft mall to open in Sengkang West Avenue and Fernvale Road junction.

"The design intent is to create a friendly, comfortable and pleasant environment to encourage shoppers to spend longer quality time in the mall. This is achieved through the clarity of retail circulation and space planning both horizontally and vertically, creating interesting architectural spaces, the introduction of natural lighting and thoughtful material selection," said SPH in a release.

"The mall is positioned to cater to the convenience, lifestyle and dining needs of existing residents as well as those in the upcoming new residential developments in the vicinity, consisting of HDB Built-To-Order flats, private condominiums and landed properties at the Seletar estate. The new mall will enjoy a catchment (within 5 km) of 730,000 residents and a working population of 47,000, including the Aerospace Park, slated for completion in 2013," it said.

"The mall will have a gross floor area of 284,000 sq ft and net let table area of 188,000 sq ft, spread over four levels above ground, and two basement levels. The four- storey retail podium above the ground creates a less imposing building facade, and allows a friendlier suburban shopping experience. A variety of key anchor tenants are strategically planned to attract shoppers to various locations within the mall. These include a Cineplex on the 4th storey, a food court on the 3rd level, anchor retail shops at the 1st, 2nd and 3rd storey, and a good-sized supermarket at Basement 2," it added.

Providing more details, SPH said the unique triangular-shaped site with three corner nodal points allows entry from Fernvale LRT station, corner junction of Fernvale Road and Sengkang West Avenue, as well as Fernvale Road. All entrances direct pedestrians to a four-storey high atrium, serving as the central feature of the whole mall. Within this atrium is the main event space flanked at two ends by the escalators that connect to basement levels and upper floors.

"The retail planning is based on a wide single loaded retail corridor organised around the voluminous atrium space. This provides a simple and friendly shopping experience and also allows visual connectivity between floors. A large clerestory skylight perched above the atrium allows natural light to enter the mall, thereby ensuring a cheerful atmosphere throughout the day. The shopping floors recede from the 2nd storey to the 4th storey in a terracing manner, allowing a clear view of activities at the lower levels, and particularly, the main event space. Roof gardens outside the food court and the Cineplex offer an outdoor experience with views of lush greenery," it said.

About 390 car park lots are provided at Basements 3, 4 and 5. To ensure user friendliness, the driveway, ramp and car park lots are designed with widths wider than the norm.

Environmentally-sustainable design features and energy efficient mechanical and electrical systems are carefully selected such as high efficiency water cooled chiller plants, installation of LED lights within the mall, lift cars and escalators with sleep mode function, and carbon monoxide sensors in the carpark to regulate demand for mechanical ventilation. Non-potable water including rain water harvesting will be used for landscape irrigation and washing of some areas in the mall.

"The Seletar Mall is easily accessible to all shoppers - it is connected to the Fernvale Light Rail Transit (LRT) which is seamlessly linked to the Sengkang North East Line (NEL) MRT/LRT station and the Sengkang bus interchange. It is also located near expressways, including the Tampines Expressway and Central Expressway," SPH said.

Can't wait for the cinema to be completed.. can finally enjoy late night movies without burning a hole in my pocket with all the mid-night charges.

Thanks for sharing, Why2912. Nod
Here's the last paragraph...............
Mr Mark Shaw, Executive Vice President of Operations, Shaw Organisation, said: “Shaw Theatres has been a partner of SAFRA for 10 years and it is gratifying to be part of a programme to show our appreciation for NSmen and their families. SAFRA members can look forward to our unique brand of movie going experiences at Shaw Theatres as we continue to grow, with more theatres in 2014 and 2015 at Seletar Mall and Punggol Waterpoint, and technologies like our mobile app, cinime, High Frame Rate projectors and improved digital sound systems, all of which will give our audiences a richer cinema experience.”
