Sorry friends, my English not very good... my Pinyin even worse.
Mandarin (Guan), Hokkien (Min), Teochew (Min Nan), Cantonese (Yue), Hakka, Wu, Xiang, Gan and many other dialects... I don't know.
Malay, Bahasa... I don't know.
Tamil, Hindu... I don't know.
Singlish... I trying to learn.
...of the Four official Singapore languages, I survive on English.

I am not as good as you all, please be sympathetic. I love to read your forum messages... brings me joy, laughter, makes me think of other people's alternative views.
I do not ask it to be written in Queen's English or Cockney.
But, when its written in Pinyin and slang... I need to get my son's dictionary and ask around... I still cannot get what "jio" means. Help

Please, my new friends, help me along...maybe one day, I can "catch no ball". Bounce

A good point raised. As sk.com is a public forum (with multi-racial members), minimize the use of dialect or "mother tongue" is encouraged.

Cheers

Yeap!
It is better not to be misunderstood or ignored by others.
So, the best practise is to use simple English. Sly

Cheers... I don't know what the Thai is talking about either. But I think they trying to teach the Thai language, some even have English translated after it.
Don't change your habits "for you only and only you, if i and i reply to your and your post only"... I'm sure the other members love you the way you are. I do not wish to be the only one benefit.
That's what I mean, y'all are better than me, muti-lingual... I am ashamed that I cannot understand, but am trying to learn.
When those writing in Pinyin, us non-multi-lingual members struggle to understand what is written. I try to read it, because I am interested in what others have to say, and put in the effort to go and translate it... for me to benefit from the wisedom gained.
Same goes to sms texts used in this forum... I need to ask my sons, or google it to get the translation.
I finally found out what "jio" means!

Mdm Pucca! I know those 2 letters can symbolise many terms, ie Tender Loving (Care)... but with ur Lips Sealed Lips Sealed ... I'm thinking the Hokkien Bing version...
