I just read from a car forum

some low life thief has stolen 4 Enkei rim + RE070 tires from a rather new car at multistorey carpark at Sengkang area. The car is left propped up on 4 bricks Furious Furious Furious

i roughly did a search... every now and then , we will see pple's slippers got stolen, tires+ rim got stolen etc Confused

what is wrong with this neighbourhood Confused

if anyone saw anything fishy in our neighbourhood carpark...please pick up the phone and call 999 ...dun be selfish and do nothing just because it is not your car

Just wondering how many thief are involved, in order to jack up the car and to unscrew 5 nuts per rims, and it takes time, can't be using heavy duty jack or any power tools.

Unless the Thief work with Formula 1 Team before, able to take off the rims in less than 5 sec. Nod Nod Nod

In my view: is how to prevent this, rather than how they did it.

This carpark at Anchorvale Blk 309 quite notorious due to it's remote location.

For Blk 299, it is facing TPE, so maybe it is out of the line of sight from the nearby blks, making it a prime target as well. But strange, if I am not wrong, this MSCP has signs saying that it is under CCTV surveillance. Hmmm.....

Hope the police step up their patrols. (I usually only managed to see them at Anchorvale CC McDonald's Lips Sealed ).

just a suggestion coming to my mind now..... we know the policemen on patrol cars cannot be patrolling the neighbourhood every hour at every place. How about installing a motion detection device at all car parks to sound an alarm at the neighbour police station whenever there is a vehicle going into a car park at odd hours eg. 2/3am? At least there is reason for a patrol at that car park since at that hour, it is rare for residents to go home (of coz to exclude Fri, Sat & Sun nights.... ) It will narrow down the estates the police has to patrol every night (or do they?? Lips Sealed )

It may be tedious for policemen to be prompted & responded to each alarm at first. But they can choose not to patrol even when alerted. But at least it is better than no alert or no action at all now! Sly

How to prevent:

- Install a set of tire lock nuts (make sure keep the key)
- Install additional tilt sensor into alarm system

Do our part and not to rely on authorities to take care of our properties, before its too late.
